Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Police state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.
City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for tips.
A senior political figure commented the incident left him stunned and had to be solved quickly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
