Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.
Moscow has escalated assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.
"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.
Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.
Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.
A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.
Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.
Local officials said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.
The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.
The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.
Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.
Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
